Aquatic therapy is another treatment strategy employed at BRW for the rehabilitation of the entire body. The physical properties of water, such as buoyancy, viscosity, hydrostatic pressure, temperature, and surface tension offer advantages to clients who exercise in the pool versus land. Often clients who disorders are able to exercise within the pool environment and physical hydrostatic advantages to clients who exercise in the pool versus land.
Aquatic therapy services help clients who are unable to exercise on land due to pain, weakness clients who or balance disorders are able to exercise within the pool environment and gradually build strength, balance, and endurance to eventually allow exercise on land against gravity. The body experiences an up thrust or buoyancy to allow less stress placed on weight bearing joints and thus improving the posture and decreasing pain upon exercising in the water environment.
