Physical Therapy Team

Dr. Allison Holt, PT, DPT-min

Allison is the Clinical Director of Brazosport Rehabilitation and Wellness, LLC. She holds a Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Texas Medical Branch-Galveston and completed post graduate classes from UTMB in pediatrics. Allison is a certified Graston and RockTape provider and enjoys incorporating these techniques as part of her treatment plans. Allison has practiced physical therapy for over 18 years with experience in pediatric and adult rehabilitation. Her expertise and areas of interest include early intervention, orthopedic and sports injuries, as well as aquatic therapy and neurological conditions.

Alondra Guerra, PTA-min

Alondra is a Physical Therapist Assistant and also holds the title of Technician Supervisor at BRW. She obtained her Associate’s of Applied Science in the Physical Therapy Assistant program at Wharton County Junior College in 2012. She has been an employee at Brazosport Rehabilitation and Wellness since 2009! Alondra is a great team player and she always puts patient’s needs before her own. She enjoys working with the geriatric population as well as educating and helping her patients better understand their conditions.

Amanda completed PTA school at San Jacinto College in 2017 and has been working at BRW ever since. Prior to that she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Sports Science from Texas State University in 2014. (Go Bobcats!!!) Amanda is passionate about all things AQUATICS!!! She has over 10 years of experience as a Red Cross Swim Instructor and Lifeguard. In 2019 she obtained her Certificate of Aquatic Physical Therapy Clinical Competency (CAPTCC) through the Academy of Aquatic Physical Therapy to enhance our Aquatic Therapy program here at BRW. In 2019, Amanda also became a Certified Clinical Instructor to guide and teach future PTAs. Amanda thrives off of educating students, peers and her patients. Amanda utilizes her positive attitude and caring heart to help patients become pain free and independent by doing what she loves!

Kylie Leger, PTA-min

Kylie began working at BRW in 2016 as a physical therapy technician. Once she completed the PTA program at Wharton County Junior College in 2019 she began working at BRW full-time. Kylie is a RockTape certified provider. She enjoys many aspects of her job including engaging with patients beyond their level of injury. She is most passionate about incorporating physical activity in her daily routine and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Dusti Portrait

Dusti attended the Physical Therapy Assistant program at Orange County Community College in Middletown, NY. Dusti has almost 30 years of experience working in inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing and home health settings. She originally worked at BRW from 2008 to 2011 and has returned in 2021. Dusti has most of her experience with geriatric in the skilled nursing environment. She has also been a rehab director for over 13 yrs. She enjoys working with all ages to help them reach their highest potential and independence. She is always working to make therapy more relaxing and enjoyable so that patients are more willing to push themselves in their road to recovery.

Cherri Baird, PTA-min

Cherri attended the Physical Therapy Assistant program at Austin Community College. Cherri has over 30 years experience working in inpatient, outpatient and home health settings. She has been with BRW since 2017. Cherri enjoys treating patients in a variety of settings to reach their goals of physical wellness. Cherri is Graston certified and utilizes her compassion to help patients achieve their goals. She specifically enjoys working with orthopedic and geriatric patients. She is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that patients are reaching their full potential while enjoying their therapies.

Liz has been a technician at Brazosport Rehabilitation and Wellness since 2014. If you come to therapy in the mornings, you’re sure to see her around. She is one of our most experienced techs and is excellent at instructing patients through their exercises. Liz is always patient and is a great listener. Liz is always willing to help wherever she is needed.

Taylor Beal Portait

Taylor started working at BRW in January of 2021 as a tech. She graduated from Texas State University in 2019 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise and Sports Science with a concentration in Pre-Rehabilitation Studies. She plans to pursue an Associate’s Degree at San Jacinto College in the fall of 2021 to become a Physical Therapist Assistant. Taylor enjoys working hands-on with patients to help them achieve their personal goals.

Katie graduated from Texas A&M in May 2022 with her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology, Dance Science. She began working as a tech here at BRW shortly after graduation. When she’s not working as a tech, she is teaching at Barbie Rhodes Dance Studio, where she has been a dancer since 2004. Katie would like to continue to use her love for dance combined with helping others to pursue a graduate level degree someday.

Yury comes to BRW as an experienced technician from Alvin. She is a mom of two boys and is interested in pursuing a career in Massage Therapy or Physical Therapy. Yury is bilingual and assists with our Spanish speaking community.

Kristin is a recent graduate from Texas Tech University. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology. Before she came to BRW in 2022, she worked solely as a Physical Therapist Technician at an Aquatic facility in Houston. Kristin enjoys utilizing her aquatic background to work with our aquatic patients. Kristin has a special interest in pursuing pediatric therapy in the future.

Marla holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. She has over 25 years working with pediatric patients in school districts, home health and hospital psychiatric settings.

Julie Bogaards, MS, SLP-CCC-min

Julie holds a Master’s of Science Degree from Texas Christian University in Speech Pathology. She is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and Certified in Clinical Competence by the American Speech & Hearing Association. Julie has over 25 years experience working with various populations. Adult patients have been seen in all areas of rehabilitation: acute, sub acute, and outpatient facilities, as well as home health settings. She also has extensive pediatric experience for preschool and school age children in private practice facilities. Julie is also a Certified Vital Stim provider for swallowing disorders. When she’s not at BRW she works at Texas Children’s Hospital and Memorial Hermann Hospital system.

Linda Hoda-Shook, MS, SLP-CCC-min

Linda is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist Certified in Clinical Competence by the American Speech & Hearing Association. She obtained her Master’s of Arts Degree in Speech Pathology from The University of Houston in 2008. Linda enjoys working with both adults and children in various settings with experience in neurological conditions, articulation and language disorders, Down Syndrome, and Autism. Linda is also a Certified VitalStim provider for swallowing disorders. Linda is passionate about assisting nonverbal children build confidence and blossom into their own personalities. She finds it amazing when these children are suddenly able to communicate and express themselves.

Leslie Hickl, MS, SLP-CCC-min

Leslie Hickl received her Master's of Science Degree from Texas A&M – Kingsville in 2017. She is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and Certified in Clinical Competence by the American Speech & Hearing Association. Leslie completed her externship here at BRW and has been a full time therapist since 2018. She has experience working with the pediatric population in both the academic and outpatient settings, as well as the adult population in outpatient care. She is specifically passionate about working with children diagnosed with Autism. The positive impact that her patient’s progress has on their families is one of the most rewarding aspects of her job.

Dawn

Dawn holds a Master’s of Arts degree from The University of Texas Pan American in Speech Pathology. She is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Texas and maintains certification through the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA). Dawn has over 20 years of clinical experience in both educational and outpatient settings. She has provided assessment and therapeutic intervention to a variety of children, primarily ages 2-21, with speech and language disorders including autism, language and learning differences, articulation impairments, augmentative communication, functional communication, and pragmatic language. Dawn is passionate about giving children a way to communicate.

Stacey holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Houston. Stacey has over 15 years of experience working with a variety of diagnosis in both educational and outpatient settings. She has a special interest in working with children not only with articulation and language disorders, but other disabilities as well.

Sarah received her Bachelors of Science degree in Communication Disorders from Texas A&M University - Kingsville. She has experience working with both the pediatric populations in the educational and outpatient settings. She prides herself in constant research to deliver various treatment methods to better serve her patients. She enjoys the opportunity to not only interact with her clients but other medical professionals in the rehabilitation setting as well.

Morgan received her Bachelor's in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Stephen F. Austin State University. She began working for BRW in January of 2021. Morgan grew up in Lake Jackson and graduated from Brazoswood High School in 2016. She enjoys working with the pediatric population and has a passion for giving children a way to communicate and express themselves.
